Meet Mocha Joe...
Mocha Joe is the inspiration behind Crispy Critters Pet Treats and Chairpup of our Taste Testing Team! Mocha Joe is six years old - a sweet-natured and frisky red merel, mini-Australian Shepherd. Born in Georgia from
Dynasty Aussie Kennels, owned by Fran Withers and Kim Johnson, Mocha Joe is the son of champions; but, in his world...he's the champion of our neighborhood! He's everyone's friend and works hard herding the neighborhood dogs, cats and birds and ducks.
It's Mocha Joe's job to keep the annoying geese off our side of the bank, and in the water where they belong. We'll be introducing you to family, friends and neighbors as time goes along.
They each have their favorite cookie, named after them too!
Have you ever looked at the ingredients list on most commercial dog cookie packages? When Mocha Joe was a puppy, we were committed to feeding him wholesome, healthy meals and wanted to continue that to his snacks as well.
So, we decided to make our own, natural, healthy homemade dog cookies! One inspired Sunday afternoon, we 'recycled’ the chicken scraps and innards of our whole roasted chicken dinner and created homemade, natural and healthy treats for him!

To make ‘
Mocha Joe’s Southern Swirl’ we diced up the Chicken and added a bit of Whole Wheat Flour, Gravy, Carrots, a dash of Flax Seed – all topped with a swirl of Sweet Potato and Pumpkin and sprinkle of Southern-style Grits!
